QUOTE:

"This is how grace works; it enters the soul, penetrates the heart, saturates the conscience, abides in the memory, affects the affections, gives understanding to the understanding, and imparts real life to the heart, which is the seat of life." Spurgeon

The Hills are Alive!!

Salzburg, Austria---"City of Salt"
Birth place of Mozart! Home of our favorite movie, The Sound of Music, magically couched in the Austrian Alps,
Easily the most beautiful place we've seen!
We spent our time in Austria touring the sites where The Sound of Music was filmed riding on the Hills are Alive tour bus. We stopped to visit the town of St. Gilgen and Wolfgang Lake--beautiful!!!! We took a toboggan ride down a mountain (similar to the alpine slides.) We saw a spectacular dinner theater production with Austrian Opera singers performing popular songs from Sound of Music as well as Austrian folk songs. We've loved the taste of Weiner schnitzel, spinach dumplings, bratwurst and apple strudel! Shopping in Old Salzburg while visiting Mozarts birthplace was great fun. What a breathtaking creation Of God ....Austria!

  1. Just finished posting not hearing for a few days and up comes Austrias posting - it just sounds wonderful. Stacy will just die when she hears you were where the Sound of Music took place,. Your picture is so cute but where is little Saili ? Is my little Saili wearing out? Or is she tip toeing and prancing about like the littlest Von Trapp? Are the hills as green as I remember in the movie? Take lots of pictures - can you create a slide show? or DVD of pictures? Love Mom/Grandma

  2. "with the sound of music"! Oh, I love this picture and the movie. As you know, Holly and I grew up with this and it was a favorite. How awesome for you all to be there. I will be singing the song now for awhile:)
